Daily Devotional - I Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. -I Corinthians 10:31

This is just a quick devotion.  Up to now I've been talking about strongholds and I said that it could be any sort of stronghold - from using drugs to eating too much, or maybe even feasting too much on tv.  It's anything that takes your focus away from God.  Well, now I want to be a little more specific.  Like I've said before, I'm trying to lose weight.  What sent me on this journey is I felt like I wasn't being a good testimony if I couldn't control what I put into my body.  Sure, it would be nice to be back into a size 6, but what would be nicer?  If I'm using food as self medication, where does God fit into my life?  What's better than being a size 6?  (No, not a size 4)  I'd rather be closer to God, more obedient, have a better outward view of His glory.  If I'm not in the best shape I can be in, how is that a good view of God's glory?
What's your motivation?  God put us on earth to bring Him glory.  That's our purpose in life.  So, whatever you do, you should do it to the glory of God.
